Statement of the Chair and Ranking Republican Member regarding Members of the Committee making public statements pertaining to information that may be before the Committee

It has been the practice of the Members of the Committee on Standards of Official
Conduct to vote “present” on privileged resolutions which may potentially involve the
jurisdiction of the Committee. Committee Rule 7(d) restricts Members of the Committee from making public statements pertaining to information that may be before the Committee.
